
Rising: My Journey of Healing Through Rituals

Every so often, we come across a story that is so raw, honest, and transformative, it feels like a piece of our own heart. RISING: A Woman’s Journey of Healing Through Rituals is that story for me—because it is my story.
It’s the story of my rise from years of anxiety, addiction, and unhealed trauma to a life filled with peace, clarity, and purpose—made possible through the grounding power of rituals, yoga, and emotional healing work.
Why I Wrote Rising
I’ve been a self-help book lover since I was 17 years old, desperately searching for something that could help me untangle my emotions and make sense of my world. Those books planted seeds in me—but it wasn’t until I went through my own deep transformation that I knew I needed to share my journey.
I wanted to create a book that was both a memoir and a guide—a blend of real, unfiltered storytelling and the practical tools I used to heal—so other women could find the hope, structure, and encouragement I wish I had earlier.
The Meaning Behind “Rising”
The title Rising is deeply personal. To me, it represents the ongoing process of growth and evolution. No matter where we are in our healing, there is always another layer to uncover, another chance to rise above what once held us down.
How Yoga Anchored My Healing
Yoga has been a constant in my life, but in 2018, my disciplined Ashtanga Yoga practice became the bedrock of my healing. It grounded me during the chaos of early sobriety and helped me reconnect with my body after years of feeling disconnected and unsafe in it. That same year, I quit alcohol for good—a turning point that changed everything.
The Year Everything Shifted
2018 was the year my world cracked open. Along with embracing Ashtanga and getting sober, a repressed memory surfaced—one that forced me to confront deep emotional wounds and begin the process of unblocking my throat chakra. Finding my voice, after years of silencing it, became a central part of my healing.
Discovering DBT Skills
Alongside yoga and rituals, I learned Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help regulate my emotions and communicate more effectively. These tools didn’t just support my sobriety—they transformed my relationships and helped me create a life rooted in calm connection rather than chaos.
Why I Used the Chakra System
I chose to structure my book around the chakra system because it offers such a powerful roadmap for healing—starting with grounding our basic needs (root chakra) and moving toward emotional, spiritual, and relational wholeness.
Rituals That Changed My Life
Quitting alcohol left a void, and I knew I needed to replace destructive patterns with nourishing ones. My morning reading ritual became one of my most important anchors, helping me start each day centered and intentional. Over time, I built an entire framework of rituals that continue to keep me grounded today.
Looking Ahead
Rising launches in November 2025, and it’s my hope that every page gives you something you can hold onto—a piece of wisdom, a practical ritual, or simply the reminder that healing is possible for you too.
Healing isn’t linear. It’s messy and beautiful and worth every step. And no matter where you are right now, you have the power to rise.
