Welcome. I'm so glad you're here.
Have you ever walked into a room and felt your shoulders drop before you knew why?
Have you ever wished for a place that made it easier to show up for your own practice?
Thank you for reading. Today I'm not teaching you anything. I'm inviting you to feel something. Close your eyes for a moment if you like, and come with me through the door of the shala I'm building in Herriman, Utah.
The stairs
You step inside, and the first thing you see is a staircase. Nothing rushes you. You begin to climb.
Soft music drifts down from above, low and unhurried, just enough to quiet the day behind you. Somewhere near the middle step, a scent meets you: floral and fresh, like a window opened in spring. Your breath slows without being asked.
The top
At the top of the stairs, you look up, and there they are: the Wasatch Front mountains, ridge after ridge, with light moving across them. Stop for a moment. Most people do.
To the left
Turn left, and the space opens into a welcome. In the corner is my salon. Across from it, a retail area arranged with care and filled with Davines hair products.
Then you notice a bench. This is where you sit and take off your shoes. It is a small ritual, and it matters. Your shoes hold the day. Leave it here.
The shelves
Beside the bench stands a vintage library card shelving unit, its small drawers worn smooth. Next to it are shelves of books on yoga philosophy and technique, on Ayurvedic medicine, and on the subjects that grow from them.
Run a finger along the spines. These books are not decoration. They are an invitation to study, because practice is more than what happens on the mat. Take one down if you like.
The shala
You step through the door and turn left. A large window fills the wall, and the Wasatch Front is there again, closer now, steady in the light. The floor is warm. The room is quiet in a way that feels full, not empty.
Your welcome
I'll be there to greet you.
I would be happy to help you build a personal practice, at your own pace, in the lineage of R. Sharath Jois. No one will rush you. The practice is yours, and I'm here to guide it.
Why I'm building this
My passion for traditional practice comes from my own healing journey. I tell that story in my book, RISING: A Woman’s Journey of Healing Through Rituals. The shala is where I want to offer others the steadiness that practice gave me.
Not open yet, but I'd love you to be the first to know
This place is still being built. You can't climb those stairs yet. But you can be the first to hear when the doors open.
Join the waitlist for the shala announcement. Everyone begins with Foundations, an 8-week course that teaches you the method before you step into the room. The waitlist is how you will hear first.

Until then, I hope you carried a little of the stairs, the light, and the quiet with you.
